Clever Wolf Digital · Honolulu
Build log · updated 20 Aug 2026

What we've
actually shipped.

Twenty-two projects, each with the state it is really in — what responds, what sits behind a login, and what is still only an idea.

The rule this page follows. Every entry describes a mechanism rather than a claim. Nothing here says a thing is fast, powerful, or seamless. It says what the software does when someone uses it, and whether the address currently answers. Where we could not verify something, it is left out rather than softened.

Our own products

Built for us, paid for by us, and answerable to nobody else's roadmap.

Novelbound

Live · taking payments

novelboundbooks.com

A paid writing environment for people finishing a book. It holds the manuscript, the chapter structure and the cover brief in one place, and it saves continuously while you type rather than when you remember to.

The commercial mechanism is a seven-day trial that requires a card up front. That decision cost us conversions and we kept it, because the alternative — a free tier — fills a writing tool with people who never write. The money path has been exercised end to end with a real card, including the coupon flow, which at one point charged full price and now does not.

Mail sends from the product's own domain, aligned across From, DKIM and Return-Path. It lands in Gmail's inbox. It still lands in Outlook's junk folder, because a new domain has no reputation with Microsoft and no DNS record fixes that — only time and volume do.

The Game Grader

Staging · not indexed

gg.cleverwolfdigital.com

A game review site where every title carries two independent scores out of 100 — one from accredited Expert Reviewers, one from everybody else — and the medal is decided by the lower of the two.

That single rule is the whole product. A game only takes gold when critics and players agree it deserves it, so the usual gap between a review aggregate and a user score becomes the thing being measured instead of an embarrassment to explain. All of the grading logic lives in one module, and nothing else in the codebase is permitted to decide a grade.

Sessions are handled without a third-party auth provider, which means one fewer vendor with a copy of the user table.

A marketplace for vibe coding

Idea · nothing built

no repository, no domain

The intention: a place to buy and sell small, working software built conversationally rather than specified up front — the sort of thing that takes an afternoon and solves one person's actual problem.

It is listed here at the same weight as everything else on purpose. The hard part is not the marketplace; it is deciding what a listing has to prove before it is allowed to be sold, given that the whole category is defined by how quickly something can be made to look finished. Nothing has been written yet, and this entry exists so that stays honest.

Opala Hoa

Live

opalahoa.com

A local marketplace for Hawai‘i, built around the yard-sale sign rather than the auction listing. It includes a free pile, because a great deal of what changes hands here changes hands for nothing.

Forty Plus

In build

local build

A health tracker for people over forty, where the entire interface is built on the reference interval — the band a result is supposed to sit inside — instead of a number on its own.

A lab value means nothing without its range, and every consumer health app we looked at shows the number large and the range in grey six-point type. This one inverts that. It runs locally against an embedded database, with no accounts yet, because the design question has to be settled before the plumbing is worth building.

Single Brain

Private

brain.cleverwolfdigital.com

The operations dashboard the rest of this list is run from. It carries the project state, the client-facing checklists, and the machinery that sends and suppresses outbound mail.

It also owns the unsubscribe path used by our outreach: signed one-click tokens, a public prefix, RFC 8058 support, and a suppression table that the sender refuses to start without. An opt-out that depends on a human processing it is not an opt-out.

Level Up Smarter

Live · publishing

levelupsmarter.com

A publication for self-directed adult learners, and the content engine that runs it. The engine is a command-line tool that drafts, validates, publishes and distributes an article, and it will refuse to ship one.

The validator is the interesting part. It enforces American English, checks that a new piece does not overlap an existing one beyond ten percent by shingle containment, and blocks publication until the search-console submission has actually been recorded rather than merely intended. Four articles once shipped fully distributed while the sitemap had never been submitted; that check exists because of those four.

Motion pipeline

In build

tooling

Turns a written article into a short vertical video: script, fit check, safe-zone validation, and a platform plan, from one master 9:16 render rather than a separate cut per network.

The fit check exists because captions that clear the safe zone on one platform are covered by the interface on another. The tool computes it instead of a person eyeballing it.

Level Up Self

Live

Shopify storefront

The biohacking side of the publication, kept as a deliberately separate brand. The catalog was cut from eighty-six products to thirty-seven, and a research glossary was added so a product page can point at the mechanism rather than restate a marketing claim.

The Clever Wolf funnel

Live

cleverwolfhq.com

Six static pages — a services page, three audience-specific landing pages, an intake form and a confirmation page. No build step, no framework, no page builder. Each page loads in one request and fetches nothing.

A seventh page in the same folder is deliberately excluded from the server and returns 404 on purpose, because it carries internal pricing structure. Deploys name the six public files individually; a wildcard would ship the seventh.

Certified Forward Deployed Engineer

Private · cohort running

training.cleverwolfdigital.com

Our own certification program: sixteen courses across four semesters, each one a lesson, a twenty-five question assessment and a practical gate, ending in two capstones.

Two rules make it worth holding. An assessment requires eighty percent overall and three of three on the doctrine questions, so a candidate can score twenty-four out of twenty-five and still fail if the miss was the one that costs money in the field. And the final capstone has to be completed on real client work — not a simulation — which is why nobody is certified yet.

CleverWolf.ai

Built, never deployed

domain unregistered

A homepage exists as a single HTML file with one commit behind it. The domain it is named after has never been registered and resolves to nothing.

It appears on this list because leaving it off would be the more flattering choice.

Client work

Described without names. The engineering is ours to talk about; who paid for it is not.

Commercial real-estate brokerage

Live

multilingual property site · Honolulu

A property marketing site with a Japanese, Korean and Chinese language toggle, backed by a structured content store rather than a page builder, so a listing is data before it is a page.

The translation layer is cookie-based and adds a cold-translation cost the first time a locale is requested. Adding a language touches three places in the code, which is the number worth knowing before promising a fourth.

Secure deal room

Private

same brokerage · access-controlled

A per-deal document room tied to the same property records as the public site, so a deal and its listing cannot drift apart.

Cut-to-size manufacturer

Live

storefront · custom pricing

An online store for material sold by the cut rather than the unit, where price is a function of dimensions and the customer supplies the dimensions.

Partial sheets are priced by a percentage held in configuration, not in the formula panel — a distinction that matters because the panel is the obvious place to look and the wrong place to change it. The store went live this month.

Tire retailer analytics

Shipped

instrumentation

Tracking for a vehicle-based tire search, so the business can see which vehicle a shopper searched and what they did next, rather than a single undifferentiated page view.

Data retention was extended from two months to fourteen at the same time. A year-over-year comparison is impossible if the warehouse only remembers one quarter, and the default setting quietly guarantees that.

Restaurant operations dashboard

Private

single location

Project management, financials, timeline and a discussion thread for a working restaurant, in one place its managers actually open.

Fiber ISP campaign dashboard

Private

campaign + survey

Survey results and campaign collateral for a fiber rollout, with video and audio assets playable in the page instead of downloaded and hunted for.

Installer training campaign

Complete

landing page + invitation sequence

A training invitation sent to an installer network in three waves — an invite, a reminder, and a catch-up for the ones who had not opened either.

629 messages delivered against 19 bounces, verified against the provider's own event log rather than against the sending script's exit code. Replies were routed to the client rather than to us, and two opt-outs were suppressed permanently.

Nonprofit prayer community

In build

staging

A redesign plus a donation-gated submission stream with image upload and an email approval step, built against the live site rather than as a cutover, because the existing membership and gallery system had to keep working throughout.

Coffee roaster reporting

Recurring

monthly

A monthly financial read for a single island location inside a nine-location point-of-sale account, where the default report silently spans all nine.

Labor comes from timecards rather than the payroll product, so the figure is gross wages and is reported as gross wages.

Podcast search audit

Delivered

audit + drop-in files

A search audit delivered as working files rather than a slide deck, so the recommendations could be applied instead of admired.
